Wellington Waterfront Photography
This was a photography assignment from my first year of visual communication design at Massey University. For this assignment, we were asked to take a series of photos that represent Wellington. The waterfront is constantly under development and I wanted to represent this idea of process and construction through my series “Blue Illusion”. The 3 smaller photos act as components that come together to create a whole. The calm water, the hills where residents live and the rope representing the boats. Locals are familiar with these aspects that they pass every day making it a part of their journey in life; a site they can call home. I wanted to inspire people by showing that ordinary objects can become extraordinary from a different perspective. “Blue Illusion” represents Wellington as a creative city by creating a surreal photo with a stunning shade of blue.
